Huawei:- This system has an Advantage that they are riding the change in Telecom Market the reason is they are the first to Introduce the Soft Switch Technology into the market. The best part about what I liked working on the system is the robustness it manages considering it more Software dependent system than on hardware. It has all the commands meaningful and easily understandable which incase of Ericsson is missing we need to byheart the commands as the system never gives the hints in the GUI about the command incase of Ericsson, but the benefit of the Ericsson lies with its helpful library called Alex. Coming back to Huawei the system has another benefit that the Help System is associated in the GUI. Redundant and IP based connectivity. Both Versions of the system of GSM and CDMA are present.
Lucent:-This system is the most rhobust and tested in tough times. The system is Monolithic and the MSC is directly connected to all the BTSs there are no TRC and BSC in between. Works on CDMA technology. The Inter MSC Connectivity works on TDM connnectivity no support to IP at present. The Library i.e. 5ESS gives good support. The BTS and MSC technology is supportive to IPBH (IP Backhaul)and FRPH. Disadvantage is bulky design hence more hardware faults which increases operational cost.ECP is the control Part and DCS is the resource part. MSC can work in 45 degree temperature. ECP contains the Routing, , BTS database Neighbor list and handover details, Whereas the DCS have the E1s and the Signaling link information and Trunk group, CIC, Point Code Etc.
